Though Harvard came back to defeat Army 14-13, the commandant accepted the challenge to compete against Harvard in something more scholarly. It was agreed that the two would compete – in mathematics. This led to Army and Harvard selecting mathematics teams; the showdown occurred in West Point in 1933. While it’s well-known that Harvard is one of the top academic universities in the country, you might be surprised to learn that there was a time when Harvard had one of the nation’s best football teams. But in 1931, led by All–American quarterback Barry Wood, such was the case.
These may be names, colors, animals, locations or any other variable desired. Write the first five variables next to the horizontal rows and the second five variables next to the vertical columns. For example, the names Alice, Betty, Cathy, Dawn and Ellie would be written on the horizontal rows while the names ant, butterfly, cat, dog, elephant are written on the vertical columns. Draw a logic grid by drawing five horizontal lines and five vertical lines that cross over each other to form a grid of boxes 5-by-5. Leave enough space to write in the names of the variables next to the horizontal and vertical axis. Doing so leaves only one possible combination left for the cyan colored house, and that is cyan/Annabelle. So we also now know that Annabelle owns the cyan colored house.
Conversely, suppose each of 1,000 people administer an imperceptibly small electric shock to an innocent person; the combined shock would result in that person’s death. The objective of Leap Frog is to switch the five red pegs (right) with the five green pegs (left) in the fewest number of moves possible. The initial state always has an empty space in the middle. Each peg can move to an empty space by hopping over one peg or by moving to an empty adjacent space.

Yes, it is possible to have a combination of logical and visual thinking skills. Many people use both types of thinking in different situations or tasks. For example, a scientist may use logical thinking to analyze data and come up with a hypothesis, but may also use visual thinking to create diagrams or models to represent their findings.
This allows me to be able to use much more complex logical clues and still keep track of how many solutions remain. Classroom is the educational resource for people of all ages.
Once each one has a card, the last person puts the deck back on the table face down, and they all return to their seats. Most sudoku puzzles come with a few of the boxes already filled in, so you can use those freebie clues as a jumping off point for solving and work backwards. The fewer numbers already filled in the more difficult it will be. I could have spent my entire day reading Twitter replies, but instead, I shared the puzzle with some friends who happen to be self-proclaimed Geometry wizards to see if there was a consensus solution.
